Meetings of 1/21/16: ‘Finances’ and ‘Fellowship’

Rather than the traditional dinner meeting at Quigley’s, a small cadre of SRC members attended a financial seminar at Wolfert’s Roost Country Club hosted by club member A.J. Amato, a professional financial consultant, for the general public as well as Rotarians.

A.J. provided an overview on investment options, the international impact on market shifts, why oil prices are not a major concern, and bond market choices.

This was the monthly breakfast meeting for current Rotarians and prospective members. It was the first time we met et the Greenbush Y, earlier breakfast sessions having been held at the CASDA offices.

Shannnon, who is the director of the facility, presented a talk on the Y’s collaboration with other community organizations, Its outreach in youth activities, leadership programs, and scholarships is very deep. Shannon offered to host future breakfast meetings, which Terry accepted on behalf of the club. Breakfasts are held on the third Thursday of each month from 7 to 8 a.m.


NEXT MEETING: 6:15 p.m. Thursday, January 28, at Quigley’s. The program is titled “Now Hear This,” with hearing Robert Ferguson of Advanced Audiology scheduled to provide an update on some of the fascinating new technological advances in hearing aid devices.
