We’re sorry you were unable to join us tonight for the Southern Rensselaer County Rotary Club’s annual “Holiday Party & Gift Basket Silent Auction.” Although it once again was a success, you were missed.
As always, we had a strong turnout for this special event — hosted this time around by Debbie and Peter Brown, with food by club member Jim Mendrysa and his Talk of the Town catering company — that each year gives us an opportunity to celebrate the Christmas, Kwanza, and Chanukah holidays with fellow Rotarians, friends, and family. And, once again, besides having fun we also raised hundreds of dollars through our basket auction to be put toward the club treasury in support of our many community service projects.
During this special time of year, we already have given donations to a local food pantry, provided much-needed gifts to needy families, and awarded financial grants to Wounded Warriors and the military family support organization called Blue Star Mothers. Through Rotary, we do well by doing good, part of our mantra of “Service Above Self” — year ’round.
Thank you for your service to, and/or your interest in, the good works of Rotary. We hope you will continue to stay informed of our efforts through the club website ( SRCrotary.com ) and attend our every-Thursday dinner meetings and/or our third-Thursday monthly breakfast meetings. We invite you not to merely be members of Rotary, but to truly be Rotarians, people who make their community a better place for everyone, no matter their circumstances.
