Only 2 summer Thursdays need to be filled

Screen shot 2014-06-06 at 1.06.22 AMOur club’s summer schedule is about to unfold, immediately after our break during the week of July 4.

The remainder of the 2013-14 year has us listed for dinner meetings at Quigley’s June 12 and 19, then the Presidential Changeover and New Member Induction dinner event at the Browns’ Castleton residence on June 26.

Our first three 2014-15 summer Thursdays will find us on the road with some very interesting activities:

July 10 — Our annual summer theater outing will be a performance of the iconic musical “42nd Street” at the Mac-Haydn Theatre in Chatham. Event coordinator Debbie Brown will have a signup sheet at the June 12 meeting to begin providing details and getting a firm headcount for the outing.

July 17 — Our annual picnic and pro baseball game event at Bruno Stadium at Hudson Valley Community College will pit the hometown ValleyCats against New York-Penn League foe Aberdeen. Event coordinator Terry Brewer will have details of the signup and fees at an upcoming meeting.

July 24 — We will be dining with Scout campers and touring the facilities of the Rotary Scout Reservation in Averill Park with other Rotarians from the region who, with us, have helped support the facility for decades. Event coordinator Bill Dowd will have schedule and fee information available at an upcoming meeting.

Otherwise, there are only five (5) summer Thursdays on the calendar, and three already have been filled.

Terry has volunteered to plan the July 31 event, Murray Forth the August 7 event, and Jim Leyhane the August 14 event.

That leaves only August 21 and 28 unaccounted for. If you would like to coordinate and/or host either of those two dates, please let Bill know ASAP. It can be a potluck picnic, or a catered event for which each attendee will pay a set fee.
