Interested in a Rotary golf event? Try this one

Screen shot 2014-06-02 at 3.18.24 PMThe Colonie-Guilderland Rotary Club will hold its 10th annual Golf Tournament & Shootout at the 18-hole, par-3 Whispering Pines Golf Club course in Rotterdam.

The event is coming up fast — next Friday, June 6. Those interested in participating should quickly contact Julie Tidd via e-mail at or by calling her at Pyramid Brokerage, 857-4161.

Tournament details:

• Lunch, golf and post-play snacks are included in the $85 basic registration fee.

• Each foursome records its best scores for each hole. The top men and mixed/women’s teams with the best scores after 18 holes win team prizes.

• Closest-to-the-Pin Winners: The 18 players with shots closest to each pin wins prize and competes in shootout. Shootout: 18 closest-to-pin winners compete.
1st prize – A foursome at Shenandoah Golf Course at Turning Stone Resort.
2nd prize – A foursome at Albany County Golf Course.
3rd prize – A foursome at Orchard Creek Golf Course.

Team and Closest-to-Pin Prizes: Twosomes and foursomes at area courses, golf balls and equipment, dinners for two at local restaurants.

• Putting and Chipping Contest: Chipping contest before start of tournament, putting contest at turn. $5 to compete in each. Prizes for winners.

Whispering Pines Golf Club is located at 2200 Helderberg Avenue, Rotterdam.
