Scenes from the Foundation Dinner

Picture 8More than 160 people attended the annual Rotary District 7190 Foundation Dinner, held on Wednesday, November 20, at the Glen Sanders Mansion in Scotia.

The theme was “Anchors Aweigh: A Journey to Explore the Visions of Rotary.” Various areas of RI focus were “ports of call,” and many of the event staff were in nautical attire.

The keynote speaker was John K. “Jack” Best, former RI International Director of Zones 28-29, and a 40+ year member of the Penfield Rotary Club in the Rochester area.

Jack’s remarks centered on fundraising as well as estate planning to aid Rotary, a natural focus for him since he retired in 2011 after a long career in financial planning to establish a consulting firm. He also is past president of the Estate Planning Council of Rochester.

Attendees also were treated to a short musical performance by the Scotia Glenville Choralaires.
