Facebook hands-on workshop set for Oct.4

Fellow Rotarians:

A number of you recently have expressed interest in learning more (or, in some cases, anything at all!) about Facebook, the popular global social media service.

Because the Southern Rensselaer County Rotary Club has a Facebook site (as well as website and Twitter account), and because in this Rotary year we are pushing to expand public awareness of our club and its activities, the more members we have conversant with Facebooking the better.

To that end, in response to a request from President Peter Brown, I’ll be offering a hands-on Facebook workshop as our dinner program on Thursday, October 4, and I’m inviting you to participate. The nice thing is that it will not require any extra demand on your time since you’ll already be at the meeting. And, you can bring along a spouse, friend, family member or colleague to participate as well.

All you need is a laptop or iPad. The Holiday Inn Express has wi-fi service, so we’re all set on that front.

Make a note now to attend this workshop, and be sure your laptops are all charged up. And, let’s hope you will be, too.

Thanks for your cooperation.

Bill Dowd, SRC Webmaster
