The Southern Rensselaer County Rotary Club’s first CPR training and certification session was a rousing success today at Maple Hill High School.
A sizable turnout kept a team of trainers busy but, as promised, the session wrapped up in an efficient two hours. The event was co-sponsored by Top Form and Schodack Community Care group, and was open to the public.
In addition to a solid turnout from Club members, we had numerous health care and education professionals enrolled to update their previous training. We also drew a significant number of youth participants.
For those who wished them, American Heart Association certification credentials were issued after taking a written exam and hands-on proficiency tests in the use of CPR techniques and an AED cardiac defibrillator.
The proceeds from the $15-per-person registration fees will go toward programs and activities of the Club. An additional $5 fee for those who wished AHA certification went to that organization.
Here are a few scenes from the hands-on portions of the workshop.
