We enjoyed a good club meeting last week with several members recognized for their contributions to the club.
Congratulations to Pat Bailey, Mark Hoyt and Barbara and Charlie Foote for their Paul Harris awards. The recognition of Rotarymembers is a reminder to all of us that we have a significant impact on our local and world communities. Rotary makes a difference because of each of you. Thank you for making our Club successful.
We also enjoyed the company of the Tri-Valley Club from Kinderhook. The attendance for the meeting with guests and Rotarians was 35.
Thanks to Murray and Maggie Forth for hosting a “Rotary Home Cooking” dinner on Saturday. The food was excellent and the company enjoyed a fun evening of casual conversation. All funds raised from the dinner come back to our Club. Check with Jim Leyhane for upcoming dinner meetings and any openings for you to participate.
This week Carol Orvis is hosting the program for the Club. She has arranged for Jim Baldwin, Shelly Levins and Gladys Cruz from Questar III BOCES to discuss the new 2% property tax cap on school budget development. This is an important topic as it reflects how schools are preparing budgets for the coming school year. We look forward to a good turn-out for the meeting.
I have the following individuals scheduled to attend: Ron Annis, Dan Annis, Pat Bailey, Doris Calamaras, Jim Davis, April Dowd, Bill Dowd, Dick Drumm, Russ Edberg, Phil Egan, Charlie Foote, Murray Forth, Julius Frankel, Bill Kneissl, Len Leonidas, Jim Leyhane, Carol Orvis, and Rommel Tolentino, plus 3 quests.
If your plans have changed for attending the meeting please let me know ASAP.
