Terry’s weekly message

• Week of October 24, 2011.

Fellow Rotarians:

Club members and their guests provided a warm welcome to State Senator Roy McDonald at last week’s meeting. The 31-person turnout heard him provide a candid and straightforward question-and-answer session on the critical issues facing communities of New York State.

We appreciate the time he spent with our club. And, I would like to thank all our members for making the meeting on our first challenging evening in an early-winter storm.

This week our guest speaker is Melissa Ward from Rotary District 7190. She will discuss the process of navigating the District website. (Bring your laptops.) We look forward to your attendance.

A reminder: Terry, Betty and Geoff Brewer are sponsoring the first “Rotary Home Cooking” fundraiser dinner of the 2011-2012 Rotary year on Saturday, November 12, starting at 6 p.m. The theme for the dinner is “A Night of Comfort.” The main course will be lobster mac-and-cheese, with other comfort foods served throughout the evening. The dinner is open to 9 guests (total of 12 counting the Brewers). The cost for the dinner is $25 per person, and is a donation to the club.
