Dear SRC Rotarians:
A good meeting this past week. We enjoyed the opportunity to hear from Ann Cargile of the Rotary Foundation and the methods to contribute to the funds.
The process to donate is through the on-going annual giving fund, through PolioPlus donations or through the permanent fund from a trust or estate. As a club we have a commitment to the annual RI goals. This year we met our goals of $1,500 to the Foundation and $1,000 to the PolioPlus fund. Incoming President Jim Leyhane will set new goals for the 2011-2012 Rotary Year. Please let Jim know if you are contributing to these funds so the club can receive credit for your contributions. The funds from the donations can be reclaimed as grants fro projects or for Paul Harris Fellow recognition.
This week we have a special program on the changing face of medical care for all of us by Jim, Rommel and Len along with office staff from the practice. They will share information about the “Patient Centered Medical Home.” This innovation is changing the process of medical care by being proactive with the patient and providing cost-effective procedures within the medical field. This will be a very informative program, so plan on attending the meeting.
A special thanks to April Dowd for her efforts in supporting rescue animals at Peaceable Kingdom Animal Rescue in Columbia County. April picked up the project after its presentation to the club in March. If you are interested in donating old towels, blankets or food for the animals, talk to April as she is coordinating the activity for the club.
I have the following individuals attending the meeting this week. If you have changed your schedule please let me know: Ron Annis, Pat Bailey, Geoff Brewer, Terry Brewer, Peter Brown, Dean Calamaras, Doris Calamaras, April Dowd, Bill Dowd, Dick Drumm, Russ Edberg, Phil Egan, Charlie Foote, Murray Forth, Bill Kneissl, Rob Mangold, Steve Phelps, Rommel Tolentino, Len Leonidas, Jim Leyhane and 2 office staff.
See you on Thursday.
