Dear SRC Rotarians:
We enjoyed a full house at last week’s meeting. We had the opportunity to meet Hana Wojnovich, our out-bound foreign exchange student from Columbia High School, and her mother Michie-Yo. Hana will be going to France in the fall.
The program by Rommel, Peter and Len on Peter’s grandfather’s work for General Electric in the Far East during the late 1890s was very good. Rommel and Len took very old glass slides of the period and mixed them with current pictures of Japan and the Philippines. The slideshow was very interesting as Rommel and Len still have family in the area Peter’s grandfather visited. A great deal of work and collaboration went into this presentation.
The Rotary Run is only three weeks away. Thanks to Rob and Ron we have all of the sponsors for the road-course signs and T-shirts. Murray has the signs ready and the T-shirts are being made by Field of Teams. We will need a lot of help on race day, so please sign up for the work sheet at our meeting this week.
We will have a guest speaker, Jim Farnham, on financial planning in difficult times. We look forward to welcoming Jim to our club.
A reminder: We will have four club members attending the Kinderhook Rotary’s first-anniversary dinner at the Winding Brook Country Club on Wednesday — . Terry, Murray, Deb Brown and Doris.
I have the following people signed up for dinner this week: Ron Annis, Terry Brewer, Deb Brown, Peter Brown, Doris Calamaras, Bill Dowd, April Dowd,
