‘Bowling Over Polio’ fundraiser coming up

UPDATE: The event has been rescheduled for Saturday, March 26. Other than that, all the information below remains the same.

Circle Saturday, March 5, on your calendars. That’s the date for the “Bowling Over Polio” fundraiser.

The event, created to raise money for Rotary International’s global initiative to eradicate polio, is sponsored by the Southern Rensselaer County Rotary Club in conjunction with Spare Time, the bowling establishment at 570 Columbia Turnpike, East Greenbush (seen below).

This will be a family-friendly event, according to coordinator Murray Forth, with non-Rotarians welcome. Entry is $12 per person for either of two two-hour sessions, 1 to 3 and 3 to 5 p.m., and covers bowling plus shoe rental if needed. Included in the event will be a 50-50 raffle for each session, plus sales of PolioPlus wrist bracelets.
