President Terry’s weekly message

• Week of January 31, 2011.

Dear SRC Rotarians:

The weather discussion from last week’s meeting can help us understand the fun weather we are having today and tomorrow. Did Ray O’Keefe indicate this storm was coming?

A thanks to Pat Bailey for arranging the presentation by Ray from the National Weather Service in Albany. The presentation and program on predicting weather was very interesting. Remember, do not blame Ray for our unusual winter weather; he is only the messenger.

This week Ron Annis has the program and he will be addressing healthy lifestyles for all. Ron is a new member to the club and is the owner of To pForm Athletic and Fitness Center in Schodack. We look forward to his presentation and helpful hints on staying healthy.

I am working with Deb Brown on a few mid-year awards for our club membership. I would like to use February 10 as an evening to recognize club members as well as an evening pre-Valentine’s Day) to celebrate Valentine’s Day with spouses and special friends. Let me know if you are interested in having your spouse or friend join us on February 10 for a pre-Valentine’s Day dinner at Rotary.

A special thanks to Roberto Martinez for sponsoring a Member Home Dinner fundraiser on Saturday, January 29. I understand the 10 people attending had a great dinner and a wonderful evening. It’s time to get Roberto in to join club.

The following individuals have signed up for this week’s meeting: Pat Bailey, Ron Annis, Terry Brewer, Deb Brown, Peter Brown, Doris Calamaras, Bill Dowd, Dick Drumm, Russ Edberg, Phil Egan, Charlie Foote, Murray Forth, Len Leonidas, Jim Leyhane, and Rommel Tolentino.
