President Terry’s weekly message

• Week of January 17, 2011.

Dear SRC Rotarians:

I hope everyone is enjoying the winter weather this week. The snow, ice and cold are certainly a challenge for all of us. You can keep warm and enjoy fellowship by attending this week’s Rotary meeting at the Holiday Inn Express at 6:15 pm. Thursday. A good excuse get out of the house after these winter days.

We had a nice turnout for last week’s meeting. We were glad to see Geoff, Dean and Jason at the meeting. As we know, their work schedules often conflict with our meeting time. Good to have all in attendance the past couple of meetings.

My mid-year report is attached for members to review. We discussed the clubs activities for the first half of the year and our goals fro the remainder of this year. I appreciate the support of all of our club members in making the first part of the year very successful and enjoyable.

This week our speaker will be our own Bill Dowd. He will share information on “The Castles of Scotland and Ireland” with us. Bill is always a fun and informative speaker. Please join us for his presentation.

Welcome to  Jim Mandrysa, the newest member to our club. Jim is our fourth new member this year. We will welcome Deb Rodriquez (presented by Pat Bailey) and Rob Mangold (presented by Jim Mandrysa) as potential new members to our club this week. Please extend a warm welcome to our guests.

Signed up for this week’s meeting: Pat Bailey and guest, Terry Brewer, Peter Brown, Doris Calamaras, Bill Dowd, Dick Drumm, Russ Edberg, Phil Egan, Murray Forth, Charlie Foote, Mark Hoyt, Len Leonidas, Jim Leyhane, Jim Mendrysa and guest, Steve Phelps, and Rommel Tolentino.
